For $100 in Nashville, Tennessee and Huntsville, Alabama, new and existing customers can upgrade to “2 Gig” now. Original 12/3/20: In recent years, Google Fiber has moved to just offer a single “1 Gig” plan at $70. ![]() These launches are in line with the ISP’s plan to bring the faster option to “most” existing Fiber cities early this year. Update 1/21/21: Following the initial December debut, Google Fiber 2 Gig is now available in Salt Lake Valley and Provo, Utah. The ISP today also explained how you get the fastest speeds over a wired Cat 6 cable and recommended an adapter/dongle if your device lacks an ethernet port designed for 2.5 Gbps or higher. Update 1/26: Google Fiber is now offering 2 Gig in Atlanta, Georgia. This brings the total to eight cities since publicly launching in early December. Update 2/2: The new 2 Gig plan is now available in Austin (Texas), Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina), and Irvine (California), though the site has yet to be updated. New and existing customers can check availability here with nine locations across the country now eligible. Update 3/31: Charlotte, North Carolina is the latest city to get Google Fiber 2 Gig. As part of this, a Wi-Fi 6 Google Fiber Multi-Gig Router is provided to customers. In September, Google Fiber announced a ‘2 Gig’ tier, and it’s now widely available in the first cities. ![]()
